1. Overview

GeoTagImage ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website at imagegeotag.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our free geo tag image tool and related services.

This policy applies to all users of GeoTagImage, including free plan users, registered users, and users of paid plans.

2. Your Images & Photo Data

This is the most important section of this policy. Read it carefully.

Images Never Leave Your Device

When you use GeoTagImage to geo tag an image, check EXIF data, or view metadata, all processing happens locally in your web browser. We use client-side JavaScript to read, write, and export image files. No image data is ever transmitted to our servers.

GPS Coordinates You Enter

When you search for a location using the map search feature, that search query is sent to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim geocoding service (a third-party API) to find the coordinates. The address or place name you type is used only for that search. We do not store your search queries on our servers.

Downloaded Files

When you download a geo-tagged image, it downloads directly from your browser to your device. We do not receive, store, or have access to the downloaded file.

3. Information We Collect

For Free Plan Users (No Account Required)

If you use GeoTagImage without creating an account:

• Usage counts: We track the number of geo tag image exports per day using your browser's localStorage. This data lives in your browser only — we do not send it to our servers.
• IP address (hashed): For rate limiting and abuse prevention, we store a one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address. This hash cannot be reversed to reveal your actual IP address.
• Session data: A temporary session identifier to maintain your daily usage count. This expires when you close your browser.

For Registered Users (Paid Plans)

If you create an account or upgrade to a paid plan, we collect:

• Name and email address — required for account creation and plan activation
• Payment information — your payment screenshot and transaction reference (see Section 6)
• Usage statistics — number of images processed, stored in your account to track plan limits
• Login session data — standard WordPress session cookies to keep you logged in

Automatically Collected Information

Like most websites, we collect basic web server logs including:

• Browser type and version
• Pages visited and time spent
• Referring website
• General geographic region (country/city level, not precise location)

4. Cookies & Local Storage

Essential Cookies

We use a minimal set of cookies required to operate the website:

• Session cookie: Keeps you logged in during your visit (expires on browser close)
• WordPress cookies: Standard WordPress CMS session management
• Security nonce: Prevents cross-site request forgery attacks

LocalStorage (Browser Storage)

The geo tag image tool uses your browser's localStorage to remember your daily usage count for the free plan. This data:

• Lives in your browser only — never sent to our servers
• Resets automatically at midnight each day
• Can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's site data

Analytics Cookies

If we use analytics (see Section 5), analytics cookies may be placed. You can opt out by using browser extensions that block analytics trackers, or by adjusting your browser's cookie settings.

We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.

5. Analytics & Tracking

We may use privacy-respecting analytics tools to understand how people use GeoTagImage. Any analytics we use:

• Do not track individuals across websites
• Do not sell data to advertisers
• Collect only aggregate, anonymised usage patterns
• Do not access your image files or EXIF data

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising network trackers. We do not run ads on GeoTagImage, and we do not collect data to serve you targeted advertising.

6. Payment Information

GeoTagImage uses a manual payment verification system. We do not integrate with any payment processor APIs (Stripe, PayPal, etc.) and do not store card numbers or financial credentials.

What Happens When You Upgrade

When you submit a payment for a Pro or Premium plan:

1. You transfer the payment amount to our bank account (UBL Bank — Muhammad Wasi Haider, IBAN: PK56UNIL0109000310275815)
2. You submit a payment screenshot and your email address through our payment form
3. We manually verify your payment and activate your plan within 24 hours
4. Your screenshot is stored securely in our WordPress media library for verification purposes

Data Retention for Payments

Payment records (name, email, plan, screenshot, transaction reference) are retained for a minimum of 3 years for financial record-keeping purposes, as required by applicable law. Payment screenshots are stored only for the duration necessary to verify the transaction and resolve any disputes.

7. Third-Party Services

GeoTagImage uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

• Google Maps API: Used to display the interactive map for location selection. Google may collect usage data per their Privacy Policy. The map is only loaded on the geo tag tool page.
• OpenStreetMap / Nominatim: Used for address search (geocoding) and reverse geocoding. Search queries are sent to Nominatim's servers. See their Privacy Policy.
• Font Awesome CDN: Used to serve icon fonts. Standard CDN logging may apply.
• Google Fonts: Used to serve web fonts. Google may log font requests per their policies.
• ARMember (WordPress Plugin): Used for user registration and login management. Registered user data is stored in our WordPress database.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party for their marketing purposes.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Right to rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data
• Right to erasure: Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Right to portability: Request your data in a portable format
• Right to object: Object to certain uses of your data
• Right to withdraw consent: Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

9. Children's Privacy

GeoTagImage is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at wasih480@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify registered users by email.

Continued use of GeoTagImage after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
